Memories

When I got back from my cruise I got a blast from the past when a friend from my Katimavik group sent me a facebook friend request. I sent a couple of the others he had found friend requests and that set off a chain of memories for me. I was a participant on Katimavik in 1978-79. I have thought about my Katimavik friends over the years whenever it was talked about. Various friends I visit with have been talking about their childhood, so that has got me thinking too. I am going to start writing memories down. We had a dog named Sport when we were growing up but I don't remember much about him. Snippets of various memories happen when someone talks about family, places and school. I remember bringing a garter snake in to show my grandma when I was 10, it didn't go over very well.

Getting Ready!!!

In 9 days my mom and I will be on the HAL's Zandaam cruising to Hawaii. I have been sorting clothes and putting together outfits for weeks. This is our third time on this cruise. My taste in clothes changes from cruise to cruise. This time I am bringing clothes that reflect my taste right now. Jewelry, makeup, formal wear, dressy casual, and an outfit or two for the hot weather. I expect only a couple of days of warm weather. To do list manicure, pedicure, wash floors, washing clothes as I am writing this.

Spring

We went to the Good Friday service at the Wesbilt center. I talked to several of my friends there. I enjoyed the singing and the message of Jesus dying on the cross and then rising on Sunday. I have been watching The Bible series on History and tonight is the finale. The theme we have been thinking about all weekend. Jesus dying on the cross and then rising from the dead.

He's Alive
I spent Saturday night and part of Sunday with my mom. We had homemade waffles with strawberries and real whipped cream. In between canasta hands she made pumpkin cheesecake. Yummy!! Spring is definitely here and so is the warm weather. The birds are singing and frolicking in the air.

It has been longer than I thought it was since I posted. In a nutshell I have gotten my Distinguished Toastmasters in June of 2012. I was a member of two Toastmaster clubs and coaching a third. Between depression, anxiety and being stressed to the max I kept the goal of achieving my D.T.M the focus. I have not been to church in over a year except for a couple of celebrations of lives. I wanted to get back but felt guilty when I couldn't. I have come out of the depression and anxiety phase and find myself spending time with my mom on the weekends. I have realized over the past months that someday I will be able to do the things I want, but these days my mom is my priority. At a toastmasters meeting in January someone did a speech on the Happiness Project. I bought the book and am reading it. It challenges a person to find more happiness than you have. I have been writing a novel for 10 years, several rewrites later I have figured out what is missing and am going to start writing again. Have a great day!!!

Olympics

I enjoy surfing the blog world and coming across applications people are using, One of them is Fave it! in which you can have a list of things that you like and have a widget on your social media site of choice. Mine is my blog. On Twitter I came across the site You gotta be there. I went there and found they had a blog. It is about the Vancouver, B.C. 2010 Olympics, so if you are somewhere where you can't see it you can follow it on this site. The widget is on the side of my blog. Check it out. All the best to the athletes training hard and overcoming obstacles such as lack of snow.
